Legend Key:

What is a Road Closure? A "Road Closure" indicates the roadway is temporarily closed.
What is a Severe Driving Condition? A "Severe Driving Condition" indicates the surface is mostly covered with frozen material. Limited or no visibility. Bridges and minor roads will likely be in worse conditions. Driving in these conditions can be dangerous. Please avoid driving if at all possible.
What is a Difficult Driving Condition? A "Difficult Driving Condition" indicates the surface is wet, but not yet freezing as of last report or has begun to clear since last report. Wet roads can be slick and may freeze suddenly. Often, salt and traffic will keep main roads wet while bridges or smaller roads are covered. Please use caution.
What is a Fair Driving Condition? The surface is generally dry and clear. Watch for ice patches when temperatures are low. Frost can also cover dry pavement without warning. Drive carefully.
What is a Seasonal Closure? Roadway is closed for the entire weather season.
What is a Crash? A specific, identifiable, unexpected, unusual and unintended external motor vehicle event which occurs in a particular time and place, without apparent cause but with marked effect.
What are Alerts? Possible truck restrictions, permit status requirement, construction detour, etc. Be advised and use caution.
What are Special Events? Used for planned activities or events that potentially impact traffic or road conditions.

      Litter and Pothole Reporting Instructions:



      One way to report potholes and litter on New Mexico DOT roadways is to log the locations using a 3rd party mobile application called QuickCapture from Esri. Use the steps below to install and utilize the QuickCapture application.




      1. To install the Esri QuickCapture app, click or tap the button on the left for your device’s platform: iOS/iPhone (App Store), Android (Google Play).

      2. Once the QuickCapture app is installed, click open and select 'Continue Without Signing in'.

      3. Make sure to allow location access.

      4. Next, return to this page and tap the QuickCapture logo to the left to load the NMDOT Roadway Incident Reporter project. Select 'Open the project in the quick Capture App.'

      5. Next, tap the NMDOT Roadway Incident Reporter project button to open the project.

      6. Tap the either the Pothole or Litter button to start a report. Follow the on-screen instructions to submit the report.
